What is Net Neutrality?
December 8, 2017
Net Neutrality has been a hot topic lately–to stop the attack or to be for it.
Net Neutrality means that the internet supports and protects free speech. Which means internet service providers should give us open networks that allow free browsing instead of blocking sites that don’t apply to their service. It’s similar to our phone service providers, they shouldn’t be able to restrict on who we can call, text and say.
If Net Neutrality would be attacked that would mean our internet speed would slow down, a lot of contents on web would be blocked unless paid for and the government would have a more active role in what we post, read and do. Corporate companies that sponsor our internet service providers would be able to control everything we see, they would block out advertisement that discriminate them or compete against them. Social media like Twitter,Instagram and Snapchat would be restrictive on what we could post.
