Terror in London
September 22, 2017
Once again, the world has been hit with another attack that had been planned to devastate the lives of many people. On Friday September 15 at 8:20 a.m., as everyone was on their way to work and making the trip of their daily routines into London, England, a home-made bomb exploded in a London Tube.
This year alone there have been five terrorist attacks in Britain. A total of 29 people were injured in the stampede of people fleeting the scene and others ended up with flash burns. Luckily, there were no fatalities in this incident.
While police are still investigating the crime, there was an image found on a social media site that may help solve the crime. Within the photo, there was a sighting of a white bucket inside a supermarket bag that had been set on fire.
On the same day as the attack, President Donald Trump informed British Prime Minister Theresa May that the United States will assist the United Kingdom in opposing all terrorist attacks. Andrew Tillehkooh, a world history and government teacher at Eleanor Roosevelt states,”The U.S. helping Britain and other countries that might be attacked is a positive contribution, shows solidarity, that we’re all one, that we’re fighting to stop terrorism, and we’re not going to stop living our lives because of it.”
Up to this point, police have made six arrests for those who were involved in this attack. All those who have yet been arrested are men raging from the ages of 17 to 48 years old. None of the men have yet been identified to the public, but they are all being held in a police station in South London.
There is no way to forecast a terrorist attack, therefore Mr. Tillehkooh said,”I believe this attack will raise the height of security which usually happens after an attack. Hopefully London will be more vigilant and stop the level of terror from increasing.”
