It’s Good To Be Back!

You ready? I know I am because our varsity football team is back in action and they’re better than ever. Yes, there is no denying how hot it is outside as of late, but now is the time to get hyped up because the varsity football team is so excited to show the school how much they’ve improved since last season. Now that’s probably a given statement every year, but the team is truly ready to win this upcoming CIF championship. Through the long nights of practice, the tough training done daily at the football field under the 100 degree sun and the need to come home to go straight to homework then hopefully get a couple hours of sleep, these high school football players still managed to stay focused and determined to be the best they can possibly be.

Senior varsity football players of the class of 2017 last year left put a lot on the shoulders of this year’s players. but they’ve had practices everyday and weight room every 6th period to keep them in check. Having a great bond and trusting each other is very important for these guys as they have been friends for years and they can count on one another to have their backs in serious games like this. Obstacles are what help them work harder to get towards their  goals.

The first game of the season is here and everyone is so excited to see the boy’s new uniforms! The game this week is at 7 pm and it is an away game at Eisenhower High. It is a game that should not be missed! Be sure to bring your ASB card to get a good discount!

This week we’re going to share some personal rituals, favorite songs to listen to before games and what game in particular to be most excited for from Randy Rivera and Lionel Masivi.  “I pray to God before games to help me succeed in games and I’d want to say I’m most excited for the Centennial game but I think I’m going to have to say our Norco game because they’re talking a lot about us so we need to show them we are better than them by not talking bad about them but showing them the scoreboard after,” Lionel Masivi, one of the players that will start the game in the safety and corner positions, said in an interview.

Randy Rivera, another player, will start at a Slot WR and Safety position for the upcoming game. “I usually pray before a game and as a team, we blast music to turn up. I’m really excited for Norco and Cervite but I have to roll with Norco as being the game I’m most excited for because they’re our cross town rival. My favorite song to get hype with the boys to would definitely be Pretty Boy Swag by Soulja Boy to get us ready to win the game while we blast it on our speakers,” Rivera said.

Come support fellow football players like Randy and Lionel by going to the game and their amazing new jerseys.
