HYBE and Geffen, two very popular industries for the production of music groups, recently announced their new group called Prelude: The Final Piece. The group is said to consist of four girls in total, and HYBE announced that Prelude is scheduled to debut in 2026. As of now, we only know three girls who are officially included, and they were previously in HYBE and Geffen’s collaboration show called “Dream Academy.” This elimination show ultimately created the famous global girl group KATSEYE. The revealed members are Emily Kelavos, Samara Siqueira, and Lexie Levin. All of these members were participants of Dream Academy’s elimination show and didn’t make it into KATSEYE; however, they were all acknowledged for their talents and charm.

Similar to KATSEYE, Prelude also fits into the global girl group division to represent diversity and a variety of ethnicities. Emily is from the US and gained a lot of attention during “Dream Academy” for her dancing skills, and many fans, participants, and executives admired her talent. This made her the main dancer of the group, leading the choreography and taking the spotlight when it came to dancing. Samara from Brazil was also acknowledged as a performer because she has a good voice, great dancing skills, and she can also serve as a visual. This is what HYBE and Geffen consider to be “Star Quality,” making Samara an instant favorite of many. Both Emily and Samara were in the top ten round of Dream Academy, and were outvoted by KATSEYE’s current members.
However, Lexie’s background is different. During the second round of eliminations in “Dream Academy,” Lexie watched her friends and trainees break down in tears due to how heartbreaking the experience was for them. The girls being put against each other and being forced to compete all on television for something they really wanted didn’t seem right to her. She began to miss out on rehearsals and was eventually let go by the producers, but she made it clear that the show was against her morals.
“I honestly understand why she left, she’s really pretty and she definitely deserves more than what they were putting her through and it’s good that she knows her worth,” says Claudia Ngantung, when asked about Levin’s decision.
Many people agree with this statement and are in full support of her decision. Even though “Dream Academy” had to let her go, she was still adored by producers and had a high fan vote. She could dance, sing, and had a natural charm that made her interesting during performances, giving her a strong star quality.
“I’m so glad she was able to be a part of Prelude, I’m so insanely excited for their Debut and new releases,” says Ellie Pascual, a fan of Levin.
