Mark Sanchez was seen on Saturday night stumbling down a street, clutching what appears to be a bloody wound in a security feed. Before, he was seen doing “wind sprints” down an alleyway and acting erratically. This was shortly after midnight.
A grease truck driver was on his way to pick up cooking oil in a loading dock, parked, and blocked the alleyway where Sanchez was doing sprints. Sanchez addressed him, and the conversation turned into an altercation between the two. Sanchez reportedly slammed the 69-year-old into the wall, an exclusive article by TMZ stated. In response, the driver sprayed Sanchez with possibly mace or pepper spray. He also stabbed Sanchez in the chest two or three times, too which Sanchez ran down the alleyway to escape.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers located Sanchez in Loughmiller’s Pub reported that Sanchez was uncooperative with them. He only reported that he remembered “grabbing for a window” and gave no more information about the incident. Sanchez was then rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Mark Sanchez had a 10-year NFL career and retired in 2019. He played four seasons with the New York Jets and appeared in games with Philadelphia, Dallas, and Washington.
Mark Sanchez currently works for Fox Sports as a game analyst and joined in 2021. Previously, he worked as a commentator for ESPN. A Civil Attorney, Jeff McQuary, who is not connected to the case, left a comment on this perceived “connection.”
“The mere fact that he was working for Fox at this time does not mean that Fox is liable,” McQuary said.
He voiced his opinion on the fact because many have speculated that Fox should be held liable since he works there.

The 69-year-old has announced he is pressing charges, and he is currently facing felony battery charges for the assault. He is also currently facing several misdemeanors.
A student at Eleanor Roosevelt, Lincoln Sage, voiced his opinion on the subject matter, being a fan of NFL football himself.
“I think he will win the case,” Sage said. “Because he almost killed [the trucker], but he didn’t.”
Others have addressed that Sanchez will not win the case, as he had started the fight, and the driver had appeared to be in far more critical condition than Sanchez.
Mark Sanchez was released from the hospital and custody on Sunday, about a week later from when the fight occurred. The stab wounds were reported to be on his upper right torso.
