On Oct. 3, Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” was released after two months of press and advertising. This album follows the ending of the Eras Tour and the release of her 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” Fans anticipate a very upbeat and somewhat romantic album that documents Swift’s life since her record-breaking tour ended.
On top of the album’s long-awaited release, Swift also released a limited-time movie in theaters from Oct. 3- Oct. 5. This movie accompanies the album with exclusive images and behind-the-scenes footage of the album creation, along with the entirety of the new album. Tickets for this film are available in most theaters, but only for those three days.

Anticipating its release, Taylor Swift fans had many opinions on the singer’s seemingly risque and unique album. Cal State University Long Beach student Cameron Perez shared her opinions as a long-time Taylor Swift fan.
“I expect a more upbeat [album] than previous ones, and for her to have a full release later, like she did with ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ ” Perez said. “I believe that this album will be more upbeat, but also synth-sound focused since her producers really like that. I do expect some long songs off of this project, but also anger, specifically anger that comes from being a performer in the public eye.”
International Taylor Swift fan, Sophia Haworth, also provided her thoughts about Swift’s newest project.
“I expect a raw album about the behind-the-scenes of the tour [The Eras Tour], similar to ‘I Can Do It With A Broken Heart.’ ”
Haworth also shared that she anticipated Track Five, “Eldest Daughter,” the most.
“I expect the vibes to be similar to 1989, specifically the newer tracks. I think it will be more love-centered and focus on the Taylor and Travis [Kelce] relationship,” Haworth added.
As of today, Oct. 3, you can listen to Taylor Swift’s new album on any streaming platform and see the accompanying movie any day this weekend.
