On Wednesday, September 10th, the Dodgers played against the Colorado Rockies, tying an end to their three-game series. Blake Snell pitched for the Dodgers and led with a stunning performance after being injured for about four months. Fully recovered from inflammation in his left shoulder, Snell struck out a season high of eleven batters within six scoreless innings.

The Dodgers made persistent plays and kept up with all the Rockies’ moves. At the top of the seventh, the team was in trouble until Michael Kopech loaded the bases with three walks. Even when the Rockies were about to turn the game around, Alek Cavesta came in and got the Dodgers out of a jam to end the inning, making the score a solid 0-4.
“The atmosphere of the stadium was loud and cheerful, just like the LA I know,” said Erick Corona, a big fan of the Dodgers.
The underlying pressure building up on the Rockies soon began to affect how they were playing, making their defense uncoordinated. Their inability to execute their plays led to the Dodgers racking up more points. The fan favorite Mookie Betts stole the night with a grand slam at the bottom of the 8th with the bases loaded, making the score 0-8. This play alone signified last week’s game as one of the Dodgers’ best games against the Rockies, generating major news coverage for the team. Not only were many drawn to Betts’s flashy play, but to top everything off, Teoscar Hernandez struck two home runs in both the fourth and eighth innings.
“It felt like he was sending shooting stars,” said Ryan Jackson, who saw the play on the game highlights.
Dodger Stadium shook with excitement as Hernandez’s home run closed the game at 0-9. With the Rockies unable to score, this concluded their three-game series with the Dodgers.
