The choir and the Band had their last concert of the year, and they did great throughout the year. I feel like the band did great because of how well they played each instrument, and it’s instruments that are difficult to play, they do it so well because of how talented the students are, and because of their teacher, Mr. Rhees.
Chior did amazing, they have talented singers and a great teacher, Mrs. Huote. Both the band and the choir have been traveling a lot throughout the U.S. for competition and have been winning a lot of awards in their competitions.
I interviewed Martin Rhees, the band teacher. I asked him how the band did this year:
¨We had record-setting accomplishments, and every band and individual we placed more people in the honor band than just about any other school. Jazz has never been better. We accomplished things that we have been working on for six years,” he says, “The Marching band has been doing things we have never done before, which is only getting better. Are concert bands led by a wind ensemble. We toured nationally this year, played in Chicago, and in orchestras, so we are extremely happy about what we have accomplished this year.” Rees explains.
And another interview with Darla Huote, the choir, I asked her what her and the choir’s favorite concert this year was, she said.
¨Our favorite concert this year was probably our spring concert. We just did a piece in tonout, we thought the entire program and choir learned it, and it was choreographed by one of our seniors who has been in the program for four years,” she explains. “And we happened to have a few students in the spotlight, and it spoke on one of the largest platforms in India, and we tried to pick a song each year that we have students represented in our choir, and some of our solos from that. And then we took it to competition and we ended up with two choirs take the highest scoring choirs in the competition our madrigal had the highest, and then our non-addition choir took the second highest scoring choir in the competition, which was fun. The song was in there with the non-addition choir, and out of the nine categories we could have won, we took seven, the highest scoring awards you could get, and we got first place! We got best student directors, best student soloist, best student accompanist, first place in chior, first place travel chior: which was the women varsity chior it was pretty fun.” She finishes.
That was choir and band season this year. That is the end of my story. I hope you enjoyed my story. Thanks for reading my last story ever for journalism, and take care, bye 🙂 (Here are some created pictures, originals did not work.)
