The festival of arts for Cnusd happened, and 80 students from our school attended. There were Many categories like drawing in black and white, Graphic design, Digital photography, etc.. were won by our students here at ERHS. It is cool to think that 80 students were there, and there were many other schools like elementary, other high schools, and intermediate schools.
In an interview with Tawny Castillo, a teacher here at ERHS, I asked her how she contributed to the Festival of Arts.
“I was involved with the festival before schools went into lockdown, and that year, that was the weekend the show was supposed to happen, and I did a digital version of the show that year. I went around and took pictures, posted them online so people could still see it, and then we returned to school in person, and the first thing that I asked Admin was ‘So are we doing an art show this year so I can celebrate the students?'”Castillo reminisces,
“So I made sure to make a lot of talk about it to district people and our admin on our site that it was important to celebrate the good thing students were doing, so we brought back the festival to the heritage park that first year we came back and it grew so much and we wanted to do so many more things, so the year after that we went around and looked at other locations we could go to and we landed the circle city center cause it was much longer and I was a courtanader to make the event happen and I am on a team with 15 other educatiers that set up the festival every year, my favorite pieces were from the elematary kids work cause they are always excited to see there own work and they can show it of.” She finishes.
And in another interview with Jada Fang, who was a second-place winner, I asked her what piece she did in the Festival Arts.
“I did a pencil drawing, and it was a mixed texture study; it was a picture of a few little pieces my teacher, Mr. Mang, gave us. It was Christmas, then I lit a camel lama with a snowman and a star ornament with a deer.
The festival of Ars happened last week and it was cool. That is my story. See you next time. Bye. 🙂 I took some pictures.
