I just learned that we have a baking club in our high school. Yup, we have one and it is fantastic! This baking club is from Hilda Castanon, a counselor here at ERHS, and a couple of her students, who had an idea to give back to our community but in a sweeter way. I love this club because they bake for good reasons. I had an interview with the president of the club, Angelina Zhen, who is a senior here at ERHS. I asked her what led up to this club and its purpose, she said.
”It is a non-profit baking club that I created out of my love for baking and wanting to do more with that. And taking that passion, and turning that into something for the greater good for the community to give back.”
In another interview with Aasha Patel, a student at Roosevelt, I asked her what she likes about the club, and she said.
“What I love about this club is that we can bake for a good cause and have fun.”
This is a cool club because its purpose is spreading joy. In the past, they have made treats like cookies, and they gave the cookies away to the Eastvale elementary school to the teachers. Hopefully, Mrs. Castanon can keep this club going after I leave high school, and it will stay for many generations to come, and give back to our community.
Maybe I might just join to bake, have fun, give back to the people, and make new friends.
There are so many different types of clubs that people can join at our school to have fun, make new friends, and join a club because of things that you both enjoy. Well, thanks for reading my story. Take care and have a good day. See you in the next. 🙂
