The Eleanor Roosevelt High School Girl’s Restrooms are beyond disgusting and sickening. As a female student, I would much rather save my bathroom needs until I get home rather than walk into such a horrific, scandalous environment. Typically, the only time these restrooms are clean is between 7:40 am and 9 am. After those times, our “supposed to be” clean, lady-like restrooms are history until our lovely janitors stay behind to clean up the shameless messes.

Walking into the girl’s bathrooms here at ERHS is truly horrifying because you never know what you will encounter. A typical girl’s bathroom visit consist of something similar to the following; Stall #1: dirty tampons hanging out of the trash, Stall #2: human feces left in the toilet, Stall #3: toilet paper thrown throughout the entire stall. By the time you get to the third stall, you’re covering your nose, just about ready to walk out and never return.

As female students at ERHS, we should take pride in our entire school, meaning the bathrooms as well. When the girl’s restrooms are mistaken for the boy’s, there is a serious problem and we are doing something wrong. We want to make sure that we are treating the restrooms at school just as we would our homes. It is easy; throw your trash away, flush the toilet, and if you make a mess clean it up! I don’t really care if you wash your hands because that’s none of my business but that would be ideal for your own sanitation.

Ladies, let’s make a change!
