“The Creator” is a film, released on September 29, about a war between AI and humans that started when the AI dropped a nuclear warhead on Los Angeles. The war has been going on ever since, but when the humans are about the win, the AI releases a newly developed world-ending weapon to win. Joshua is a soldier tasked to find and kill The Creator, an architect who designed AI and who also developed the new weapon. Joshua travels with his elite team deep into enemy territory, but upon finding The Creator he finds out that it’s an AI in the form of a child.
“The Creator” is made by the same directors who made “Rogue One,” which is a movie that takes part in the storyline of Star Wars. The movie scenes are extremely visually appealing, considering it had an 85 million dollar budget. The movie was rated 7.2 on IMDB.
Some famous actors are in the movie, like John David Washington who plays Joshua, who is famously known for being the main character in the BlacKkKlansman. Oscar-winning actor Allison Janney also stars in the film and plays Colonel Howell, one of the characters who helped recruit Joshua to kill The Creator.
Matthew Miller, a senior at ERHS watched the film and shared his opinions.
“Well, without spoiling anything, it was a really beautiful movie to watch, almost like Avatar,” Miller said. “It’s a really entertaining movie to watch, and even more if you like Sci-Fi.”
This was also said by many reviewers who also watched the film claiming it to be “flawless CGI” with “beautiful practical effects.”
With all the breathtaking scenes, many have wondered where it was filmed. Even though there are some scenes in Los Angeles, most of it is shot in Thailand. The movie also has scenes filmed in Cambodia to replicate Southern California, mainly because they have similar climates and because there are lots of palm trees everywhere.
