Final Fantasy 7 Remake: A New Trailer Revealing Official Theme Song and Characters, Including More Details of The Remake’s Stroyline
February 18, 2020
Square Enix released a new Final Fantasy 7 Remake trailer on January 31 of this year; marking the 23 year anniversary of Final Fantasy 7. This trailer revealed all sorts of details the community has wanted to see. “Square Enix, thank you so much for this amazing present you’ve given us.”
The Official theme song for Final Fantasy 7 Remake is called “Hollow.” Written by the video game composer Nobuo Uematsu and sung by Yosh of the Japanese rock band Survive Said The Prophet.
In the beginning of the trailer, we see the camera view dropping down showing us Tifa and Cloud on top of the windmill water tower located in Nibelheim. This scene know as the promise flashback confirms that Nibelheim will be in the first part of the remake. it’s starts off with young Cloud telling Tifa that he’ll be leaving home to join SOLDIER in order to one day become as strong as Sephiroth.
The next scene reveals Jenvoa in her cryo pod in what looks like a secret underground facility. We see Jenvoa entire body except for her head after the scene switches to Cloud. Cloud then shakes his head as if he as a headache; in a lees than a second static appears on the screen with a close up on Sephiroth’s green eye. Cloud and his party notice in front of them is Sephiorth looking above at Jenvoa; Sephiorth then turns over to glance at them with his devilish smile, striking Cloud with confusing and fear of what’s going on. Cloud’s only words are “Tell me. Is it really you?”
Afterwards, we get a shot on the Shirna HQ and and a close up on Director Tuesti making an apeal to President Shirna to not destroy sector 7 with public head of Public Safety Heidegger calling him a coward. Next, we see Shirna scientists creating materia using mako energy. A scientists is heard saying “Mako supersaturation confirmed” before another scientist replies “Engaging materia cooling to reduce temperature.” It would make since for the Head of Weapons Development Scarlet observing the process of materia. She sits on her chair while using a soldier as her foot stool. Square Enix did an amazing job on her design for the remake. Her red dress makes things all the more better; it’s also worth mentioning that her dress doesn’t show to be censored at all.
Palmer, the head of Shirna’s space program has made an appearance in the first part of the game. The guy looks like a fat middle age old man and his ionic yellow suit: this makes him look all the more better. Final Fantasy fans will be satisfied to watch Palmer get hit by a car.
Our first glimpse of the Honey Bee Inn looks astounding. Square Enix went all out remaking the Honey Bee Inn; they literally transformed the place into a night club instead of a brothel. The one major difference we notice – Cloud is changing at the Honey Bee Inn instead at the dress store. Cloud’s dress has also been altered; the style of the dress remains the same; however the colors have changed to black and grey instead of purple and red. One Square Enix kept from the original were Clouds adorable braids.
Wall Market Has changed so much in the remake. The biggest and most important place of Wall Market is Don Corneo’s imposing mansion. We see Corneo deciding which woman will be his bride for the night. This scene is disgusting and amazing. Corneo’s design looks awesome. He truthfully looks like a pimp with that overweight gut sticking out, and his style of dialogue has not changed.
Important news for all Final Fantasy fans – Tifa’s Wall Market dress remains uncensored, that’s right her dress has not been altered in any way.
Roche makes a grand entrance on his motorcycle, asking Cloud for rematch while Avalanche members Biggs and Wedge are there. This scene is mostly likely after the events of the motorcycle chase. We still don’t have enough info about Roche. However, it’s cleared to us that Cloud and Roche have crossed paths before.
We finally have a look at Red XIII in the remake, as well as some dialogue that mirrors the first conversation they have with him just after freeing him from Shirna HQ in the original. I’m sorry to disappoint fans but Matt Mercer is not the voice actor of Red XII. Were not sure if Red XIII will be playable in the game. It is shown in the trailer Red XII fighting along side with Cloud’s party against a monstrous form of Jenvoa. It’s possible he’ll be just a guest party member.
The last few scenes we see with Cloud and his party fighting against enemies such as the Heli Gunner. This fight originally takes place on the elevator as you are leaving Shirna HQ, but now it looks lie it’ll happen after the destruction of sector 7.
Next, we see Cloud fight off against two sweepers; Cloud is using what looks like the Mythril Saber, and then summons chocobos using their ultimate move. We immediately see the Leviathan summon being used., which you don’t get in the original all the way until Wutai Village. Cloud and Barret run a down pipe running away from a Sword Dance. An enemy that’s usually found in Shirna HQ. A new scene reveals more info on the motorcycle chase. A helicopter is shown firing bullets at Cloud and his friends. Looks like we”ll be fighting more than just soldiers on motorcycles.
Another ionic scene, where Barret, Cloud, and Tifa swinging on a rope trying to escape out of the collapsing of sector 7. Unlike in the original you can actively see sector 7 on fire. The people living in sector 7 are going to burned alive in the remake.
Finally, we end with Aerith foreshadowing that there is a much bigger threat, with the shadowy figures circling around Shirna. They look similar to the watchmen of fate and most likely are them. This event happens after Cloud rescues Aerith from Shirna’s laboratory.

Were you happy to see Tifa’s Wall Market dress uncensored? Why or why not?
I think it’s good that Square Enix did not censor Tifa’s dress. However, I don’t think her dress is suited for combat. So I hope she doesn’t wear the dress when she’s fighting.”
