The Mandalorian series review (So Far)
December 6, 2019
With the new release of Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+, comes a new catalog of original shows and films for subscribers of the platform. One of these is an extension of the Star Wars franchise, The Mandalorian. Within a few weeks of the release, it has become a hit with audiences of both Star Wars fans, and anyone who has never seen Star Wars.
Eric Barajas, a senior at ERHS says, “I’m huge fan of Star Wars, and when I saw that they were releasing a new live action TV show set in the universe that was pretty cool.”
The show has garnered much attention due to one of the main character, not the Mandalorian himself, but what social media has called, him, Baby Yoda.
Barajas also says, “I like the blend of little bits of comedy in the show, while keeping the same serious tone, giving it the feeling that something might happen each episode, either to the Mandalorian or to Baby Yoda.”
From what the show has seen so far, the story seems to be The Mandalorian, played by Pedro Pascal, trying to find peace for himself and his new companion after saving him from being killed by the bounty that led the title character to his newly adopted son.
Ryan Zaragoza, a senior here at ERHS says, “The show is great . I grew up watching Star Wars when I was little, and this kinda is more of breathe of fresh air in the franchise as it doesn’t deal with the Jedi, but something from the expanded universe.”
The show releases new episode every Friday, giving space for subscribers to analyze, what happened in the episode released. Unlike other streaming services where they not only release the new show, but release the full season, which may be good or bad, depending on your own preference.
Zaragoza, stated on this topic, “I think that it’s better to wait because it gives me time to get hyped for the next episode, but at the same time, I want to know what happens next at the moment.”
The many consistencies of the show is its quality in production and the captivating story that makes it a great addition to the Star Wars franchise. With episodes being released weekly, while it’s already started its production with a 2nd season due to its production with a 2nd season due to its critical success. It seems that the show will go on for a while for new subscribers to the streaming service.
