Early this past week, Starbucks across the United States and Canada have been selling a pack of five, color-changing cups for only $16.95! Starbucks attempted to be very discreet and quiet when releasing these cups, but they have quickly gained social media attention, and have been selling out in all stores across the United States.

The cups are not only re-usable, but they change color when ice is added.

“Rose turns into coral red, citron yellow becomes emerald, sky turns cobalt blue, apricot becomes tangerine and the icy blue cup gets a fun pop of raspberry color. Not only do they look cool, but Starbucks is also offering 10 cents off a cold beverage to anyone who uses one of the special cups when they order a drink” (Today.com).

There are multiple reactions to this new addition to Starbucks, ranging from super excited customers willing to spend a lot of money for these cups, and upset customers who have been driving to different towns in search of cups when they are sold out at every one. Some people are even buying the cups then reselling them for a grand total of $99.95 on ebay! Which some people are eager enough to buy.

Lastly, according to news source Today, “Thankfully, there’s pot of gold at the end of this rainbow-cup saga. A Starbucks representative told TODAY that the coffee chain plans to restock the cups throughout the summer season at locations nationwide. However, a different rep confirmed that the cups are not currently sold out at all stores nationwide”
