Colorguard Wins the Trophy
November 9, 2018
On Saturday, November 4th, our color guard team went to a competition at Baldwin Park and won first place! Our color guard has won first place for many consecutive years and they are on a roll!
We interviewed some color guard members to see how their competition went.
A senior color guard member at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, Gabriel Genito, is fairly experienced, as he’s been a member since freshman year. We went to ask him about placing first in the competition.
“We’re mostly in shock because there were some personal mistakes but as a whole, we were really proud because we have been working really hard for it,” he states.
Our color guard team is continuing their streak to maintain their wins and what they will do for their upcoming competitions.
“You know, along with marching band, we’re aiming to sweepstake, meaning that we’re aiming to win the entire competition. Also, with winter guard coming up, we’re expecting to raise our division to the second highest division of our nation. Basically, we will rise to become equal footing of professional color guards,” Genito continues.
So, go color guard for striving to be the best, and go win your upcoming competitions! Hope the best for our color guard team!
