Cross Country

September 28, 2016

On the 17th of September, our ERHS Boys Cross Country team competed in the 36th Annual Sketchers Woodbridge Cross Country Classic. Considered to be a very prestigious event in the world of cross country, our very own Mustangs were pitted against various schools from California and other Western states. This year, the event was held at the Silverlakes Sports Complex in Norco, which was first time the race was ever held in the Inland Empire. Our Mustangs showed our might early on with our Varsity B team achieving a top 15 finish in their three mile meet. Leading the charge for our B team was Wayne Richards, who achieved a personal best of 15:33.5 in his first race back from a fractured neck. Later on in the night, our Varsity A team competed against some of the very best in and out of the state during the Sweepstakes race. The A team finished with a very impressive 11th place, with Raymon Ornelas running 14th overall with a time of 14:36.2. Up next for our Mustangs is the first league meet at Andulka Park in Riverside on the 22nd of September.
