Veterans day is coming around the corner, granting us a day off as students; students tend to take the day off for granted as they don’t know the origins of Veteran’s day.

Briefly, Veterans Day was originally dubbed as “Armistice Day” in November 1918. I

t is celebrated as the anniversary of the end of World War 1 on November 11th.

How should I celebrate Veterans Day?

Veterans Day is celebrated through many ways, but the point of the occasion is to thank and show your gratitude to fellow veterans. Showing your gratitude can be expressed in small ways like: wearing a red or yellow ribbon to show support for veterans, visiting veterans you know, thanking a veteran in public, cook food for them, or donating some money to veteran-supportive organizations; even a quarter goes a long way.

It’s good to know what Veterans Day is about, even if it doesn’t affect you, it’s good to know where your roots have grown and how.
