This past weekend the most legendary, most epic fight went down in boxing history. Boxer Floyd “Money” Mayweather and UFC fighter Connor McGregor hit it off with a bang and entertained the whole world with their shocking performance. With Floyd being a 5 time division boxing world champion and holding a 53-0 record, critics were ready for the man to take over.

Stepping outside of his comfort zone, Mcgregor crossing over to boxing was a surprising and jaw-dropping announcement to everyone. With his trash talk and cockiness, almost equal to Floyd’s, he gave people an even better reason to tune in. The fight took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada on August 26th.   It was a sold out arena with plenty of famous celebrities there, such as P.Diddy, Tyler Perry, Frank Ocean, Mike Tyson, & Lebron James.

Mcgregor and Mayweather immediately got down to business and Mcgregor came out swinging. It was an unexpected side to see from Connor, but it was not enough to beat the best. Having all of those wins under Mayweather’s belt, automatically people knew that he had this in the bag regardless of what happened.

“Boxing fans all around the world knew who was going to win from the start.” said former senior at Roosevelt, Maurico Marnin. “Boxing is Floyds everything.  He would not be undefeated his whole career for no reason.”

Going for 10 rounds, Mayweather starts to show Mcgregor how tough he is. Mcgregor almost close to a knockout, was stopped by referee Robert Byrd due to his unconsciousness and he could no longer continue. Mayweather ended up winning the fight just like everybody said he would, but people were still surprised on Connors performance and confidence.

” Connor is a great fighter, but only in UFC.” said junior Anthony Hinojos.

Floyd still remains undefeated and he stated that ” this will be his last fight of his career.”
