YSA is a community service club that doesn’t focus on one area of need, but rather, they lend a hand to anyone nearby. That’s why we do a wide range of services from beach cleanups, to food drives, to painting a school. – Brenda Nguyen, Secretary (2016- 2017)

YSA redefines the possibility a person has when they are young. It allows the development of our own voice and gives us the opportunity to find our true selves. The club helps those in need and provides relief to the community. When it comes to YSA, no situation is too small for us as our goal is to change he world for the better. YSA is passionate about saving the planet as we view the global problems we face today and in the near future. We are a club that proves that youths can solve the problems of the community. – Malik, board member (2016-2017)

YSA is a volunteering club that gives a variety of volunteering opportunities towards the Students of ERHS. Many of our events allow students to better understand their role in their community, why that role matters, and also allows them to get life experience they would normally never have. YSA strives to encourage aspects of not only helping ones community but also understanding the issues at hand. While our wonderful high school looks to teach us math, science, history, etc., YSA is there to help provide a helping hand in times of need all while at the same time teaching children the benefits and necessities of helping you fellow man. We hope that members leave YSA with a love for volunteering, a voice for change, a desire to make a difference in the world, and overall a greater empathy for the less fortunate. – Mario, board membor (2016-2017)

Our school’s YSA was founded by Ryan Park and Brenda Nguyen, at the start of the 2015-2016 school year.

“Found in 1986, YSA supports a global culture of engaged children and youth committed to a lifetime of meaningful service, learning, and leadership. With half the world’s population under age 25, our mission is to help all young people find their voice, take action, and make an impact on vital community issues.” Youth Service America
