Japan Prime Minister to Visit Pearl Harbor

Shinzo Abe, the current prime minister of Japan, is going to be the first prime minister of Japan to visit the Pearl Harbor naval base in Hawaii on December 27. President Obama, who was the first U.S. president to visit Hiroshima, will be accompanying him.
There will be a moment of silence at the time of the attack at 7:55 a.m at the remembrance ceremony on the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.
The attack on Pearl Harbor will be marked on Wednesday by a remembrance ceremony on a pier overlooking the harbour, where a moment of silence will be held at 07:55 – the time the attack began.
“We must never repeat the tragedy of the war. I would like to send this commitment. At the same time, I would like to send a message of reconciliation between Japan and the U.S.” Shinzo Abe, Japan Prime Minister.
