Currently, I have gotten the privilege to play a very beautiful game that is definitely worth anyone’s time. Hollow Knight is a game produced by Team Cherry that has many different areas to explore and the game starts off in a location named Hollow Nest,  which consists of huge world that it is not hard to get lost in because there are many areas to find and secrets to unravel. You take control of  a nameless and silent knight which resembles a sort of insect. Right when you begin the game you will get the feeling that it is a long lost world filled with secrets and as you go through the game, you will encounter many enemies and as you find these enemies you will also find characters who will guide you to unravel the story of the game, those characters are ‘people’ (insects) who used to be apart of the kingdom that used to be, in that which it revolves around discovering Hollow Nest’s story. This game has so much history and purpose which draws you wanting to uncover every inch of it because it is initially deeper than what meets the eye because all its characters are unique and memorable. The deeper I went, the more I realized how much content and freedom this game has to offer because there are multiple endings to it depending on the root and items you have acquired, and each ending is vastly different and rewarding. As different as each area is, it all feels like its all pieced together and it makes everything feel like it is apart of a cohesive world. When I brought up this game to my friend Nick Sauro he said “That game seems so cool and I definitely want to try it out because it reminds me of Dark souls and that game is one of my favorites”  Hollow knight allows you to piece all the history and details together so that you can explore all the wonders in the game for yourself. The game mainly gives the freedom of going through whichever path you like because there are different endings to it and it offers so many elements of the story so that you can learn more about its purpose. What is truly captivating of this game is its atmosphere, the atmosphere has gorgeous art, beautiful music, and a million little details to give each area its own distinct character. As you get further into the game, you start to learn more on how to defeat each enemy you encounter and you begin learning to be more patient and just learn the enemies patterns, but as satisfying and challenging the fights are, it is rewarding because as win you will earn more ‘geo’ (coins) and sometimes too, afterwards you could receive new abilities and charms. Abilities i have received so far is dashing and another that allows to use a ‘soul blast’ which use your soul to blast on the enemies. Charms can be used to change your fight style and advance your abilities and make combats easier to go through, like extending your attack distance or increase the damage you put onto the enemy, You can switch between charms when you reach a bench which are actually Hollow Knights safe points and if you happen to die from an enemy you will re-spawn back to the last bench you were at which gain you full health again. When die from an enemy you will also lose all your coins which will be left back at the same spot where you died along with your ‘soul’ so in order to get those coins back you have to hit your soul about two for it to all return back to you. There has also been a time where I was too far to easily reach my last death that I happened to have lost about almost 2,000 coins. I talked with my boyfriend, Jered Tarin because he is the one who got me into this game and had said “It is such a gorgeous and huge game and it was worth my time because you can see how the creators really took their time designing this game.” he had also said that dying constantly when you reach is something you have to get used to because it takes a lot of patience if you want to defeat them and it is all worth it. When you reach an enemy you have not encountered before, you have to learn their abilities, powers, and patterns . There a dozens of enemies that you have to go and  fight and the fights will not be easy and you might have to die like 20 times to get passed the bosses but you do end up learning more new tactics to use, so as you go, you will have to risk trying new moves as you encounter more new enemies which you will benefit from. When it comes to combat you will want to rush in and attack the enemy but your best shot is to sit back and learn the pattern.  Regardless if you feel like you are not ready to fight one of the bosses you can always keep exploring ans go back to them later, but these challenges are some of the best thrills available. With such a compelling story and large different ways to go about, you have many ways of discovering it and it is worth spending every moment you can in Hollow nest.
