Final Fantasy 8 was released in 1999 and became the eighth main installment in the Final Fantasy series. Originally installed for the PlayStation 1; Square Enix later remastered Final Fantasy 8 for PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows. After selling over seven million copies, Final Fantasy 8 became the seventh-best-selling PlayStation video game. With the game’s amazing 3-D graphics, Final Fantasy 8 took a huge step into a new beginning for the Final Fantasy battle system.  Final Fantasy 8 received a lot of positive feedback from critics; making Final Fantasy 8 the 22nd-best game of all time in 2006 by readers of the Japanese magazine Famitsu. The game was a commercial success; it earned more than US$50 million in sales during its first 13 weeks of release, making it the fastest-selling Final Fantasy title until Final Fantasy 13.

Many fans in the Final Fantasy community want Square Enix to remake Final Fantasy 8 for either the PlayStation 4, or possible the upcoming PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, Square Enix had announced in 2018, that they were too busy developing on Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. However, now that Square Enix has finish developing Kingdom Hearts 3; there still could be a chance that Square Enix will reconsider their decision on remaking Final Fantasy 8. We can only be patient and hope that Square Enix will finish Final Fantasy 7 Remake, so that they can start working on the development Final Fantasy 8 Remake.

My Favorite Main Character of Final Fantasy 13

Snow Villiers is a playable character in Final Fantasy 13. Snow is a passionate and impulsive young man who fights his enemies with his powerful physique as a weapon. Snow is the leader of a neighborhood gang called NORA in the town of Bodhum. Snow can sometimes be reckless when he fights his opponents; but somehow always wins in the end.  In Final Fantasy 13, Snow was willing to do whatever it took to save his fiancée, Serah Farron, from becoming a puppet of the Fal’Cie. Despite Serah’s sister, Lightning, disliking Snow; he continues to fight for the people he care about. Including Lightning. Snow has the termination to fight all that is evil to save Cocoon and his friends. Even if it means giving up his life. How’s that for a Hero?

In this picture, Snow is riding his eidolon; the Shiva bike.

Snow’s arrogance can lead him into a lot of trouble, but can even out the odds with the help of his eidolon. Eidolons are powerful beings that protect their master from harm and can guide them into the right direction if their master is in a situation. Shiva, also known as the Twin Sisters of Shiva, is Snow’s eidolon in Final Fantasy 13. The Twin Sisters, Stiria and Nix, are ice-elemental mechanical women who can transform and merge into a motorcycle.
