This midterm election will set who will be the future Representatives in the House and Senate. This took place this Tuesday, November 6 with votes still being counted, but everything is closed and being finalized. This midterm election held more voting participation than the last midterm election with more and more people voting on who and what they want to see.

CNBC states “Democrats earned more than 51.4 million votes in competitive House races nationwide, or 52 percent, compared to 47.2 million votes cast, or 48 percent, for Republicans.” This says that Democrats have captured more control in the House by having more seats than Republicans. With that, the Republicans took over the Senate with having more seats than the Democratic.

A student, Luna Huitron, says “It was stressful because everything was 50/50 between most Democrats and Republicans and I had it on all day.” With everything being “50/50” votes are still being counted and those votes are what making a decision between two people so close. We go to another student, Ryan Sullivan, who says “I’m happy that the House is mostly Democrats and I’m hoping that there will be some compromise and I will like more laws being passed because of the compromise.”

Whether you a Democrat or a Republican your votes matter. With every vote, there comes a voice that holds what you believe in. So vote for your party.
