WestWorld is Back: Theories Debunked

The HBO hit series WestWorld returned with season 2 on Sunday April 22nd! Since season one left views with many unanswered questions many theories have been made about what season 2 entails.

The premiere, “Journey Into Night,” confirmed and/or debunked many of these fan theories:

WestWorld is Another Planet:

Many fans had suspicions on where an amusement

park this large would be built. Fans suspected this futuristic park was built on another planet!

Debunked!

The park takes place in China. Early into the premiere we meet Delos tough guy Karl Strand, who tells a man in a Chinese military uniform that Strand is the one in charge of the events that take place on the island.

Robert Ford isn’t Dead:

Last season Dolores shot Robert Ford in the head. Fans suspected Dolores hadn’t killed the real Ford but a host version of him!

Debunked!

When Strand and his crew and walking through the town square time square, we see the corpses of the people killed by the hosts. We then get a disturbing shot of Ford’s decaying body. He’s clearly long gone.

Ford’s Game isn’t Over:

Now with Ford dead, the “game” he wrote within WestWorld is now over. But is it? In season one Ford often spoke about a new phase of the game that involved his final narrative. Could everything that’s happening now all be a part of Ford’s script ?

Status TBD:

In the premiere we see Williams interaction with a host version of young Ford. The host tells him, “You made it to center of Arnold’s maze. But now you’re in my game. And in this game, you have to make it back out. And in this game you have to find the door. Congratulations, William, this game is for you.” Where is this game heading next?

WestWorld isn’t the Only Park:

From the start of the show fans have predicted that there was more than one park. The first season mentioned another park, and official websites seemed to confirm the existence of at least five other parks.

Status: Confirmed

Although, we didn’t see any other parks in the premiere episode, we do see a tiger that was said to belong in park six but somehow ended up in WestWorld.

Fans have many predictions on what is to come, and hopefully they get their answers!
